Bacup Nursery School
Bacup Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
Please see our Child Protection Policy in the 'Policies' section of this website.
We use the Early Help Offer to our families which is a way of providing help for children, young people and families as soon as difficulties start to emerge or where it is likely that issues will impact negatively on children's outcomes. At Bacup Nursery School, we follow the Lancashire County Council guidance.
The Designated Senior Leaders for Safeguarding and Child Protection is Mrs Cooper, Headteacher & Mrs Pollitt, Assistant Headteacher.
Mrs Cooper & Mrs Pollitt undertake specialist training as the Designated Senior Lead.
Mrs Cooper also retrieves regular reports regarding searches or use of the internet in nursery school to ensure effective filtering and monitoring. Filtering blocks access to harmful sites and content. Monitoring identifies when a user accesses or searches for certain types of harmful content on school and colleges devices. The school is then alerted to any concerning content in which the school can intervene and respond.
Children are supervised when using the internet.
The Designated Governor responsible for Safeguarding and Child Protection is Mr Steen.
